What is a traineeship?

Australian Apprenticeships comprise of Traineeships and Traditional Apprenticeships. Traineeships are a workplace training contract that combines on-the-job training at a place of employment with off-the-job training undertaken with an approved Registered Training Organisation like Tactical. Persons undertaking a traineeship gain valuable work experience and develop skills whilst studying for a recognised qualification and earning a wage.

Traineeships are an ideal way to ensure that employees gain the relevant underpinning knowledge to perform their daily tasks, in combination with practical on-the-job skills applicable to your workplace.Our training methods and resources are designed to enhance the trainee's ’ abilities and employers may be eligible to receive up to $4,000 in incentive payments under the Australian Government's Apprenticeships Incentives Programme.

How can you apply for a trainee-ship?

You must be employed before you can apply for a trainee-ship. There are also eligibility requirements depending on the type of qualification you want to complete and your individual circumstances. You can make inquiries about your eligibility by contacting an Australian Apprenticeship Centre. Once you have chosen your qualification and you are sure you have met eligibility requirements your employer will need to contact an Australian Apprenticeship Centre to arrange contracts of training.

What does an Australian Apprenticeship Centre do?

Australian Apprenticeship Centre's are contracted by the Australian Government to provide information, administration services and support to employers, trainee's and apprentices.
