This value-packed course goes beyond the theoretical basic roles and responsibilities of wardens and exceed the requirements of Australian Standard 3745-2002 which provides the minimum requirements for workplace emergency procedures and evacuation.

Designed for

All staff and occupants of any workplace who are required to respond to workplace emergencies as emergency wardens or floor/area wardens. Participants learn in a fully inter-active environment to prepare wardens for the potential stress of a real emergency in the workplace including evacuation planning.

Course content

This course includes warden roles and responsibilities, planning and conducting evacuations, fire safety and prevention, fire classes, practical fire fighting with extinguishers and fire blankets, fire classes, initial response to critical incident, contacting emergency services, emergency codes and practical responses to emergency situations applying the skills learned throughout the session.

Duration

4 hours

This information packed day begins at 0900hrs and finishes about 1300hrs. Participants should wear clothing that is comfortable, with closed shoes, a hat and sun cream for protection.

Nationally accredited Certification awarded on completion

On successful completion of the course, the participant will receive a statement of attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework for the following units of competency:

  • PUAWER001B - Identify, prevent and report potential workplace emergency situations
  • PUAWER004B - Respond to workplace emergencies
  • PUAWER005B - Operate as part of an emergency control organisation
  • PUAWER008B -  Confine small workplace emergencies
  • PRMPFES05B - Use portable fire fighting equipment

Individual or group bookings
