This includes calling for help, the ability to respond to first aid situations, casualty assessment, decision-making, and basic life support functions including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrilation until the arrival of medical or other assistance. Times of training and delivery modesThis course is able to be delivered in a highly practical 2 day face-to-face format, or in a 'flexible' format - involving a recommended 4-6 hours of self-study using a hard copy Learner Guide to assist your learning. This is followed with participation in a 1 day Practical Skill Workshop including the use of realistic injuries and life threatening casualty simulations that may occur in everyday life and will assist prepare you for a real situation.The day runs from 9.30am to 4.30pm with lunch, morning and afternoon breaks and there is plenty of discussion time for any questions you have. Due to the practical components of the course, participants are advised to wear comfortable casual attire that is ok to be stained with realistic blood used during simulations.
